The story of tour bc
(Very brief version - for the EP you need to come on the tour and hang out after hours!)
In 1996, the Tour BC was inaugurated when a visionary, highly entertaining promoter named Matthew Subotnik met an equally visionary (but highly organized) cyclist and administrator named Danelle Laidlaw. The rest, as they say, is history. Along the way the Tour BC family has grown to include Grease Gods (mechanics), yodellers, yokels, medics, massage therapists, marathon cyclists, bike fit gurus, 'bent riders, triathletes, tourists, caterers, curators, Californians, and on and on.
Over 16 seasons we have provided challenging riding in a relaxed, comfortable, professional atmosphere. We've been the incubator for countless friendships (and a few marriages!). We have showcased some of the best of BC's scenery, culture, food, drink, and hospitality, and we humbly believe that there is no better way to spend a week on a bicycle. There certainly isn't a more fun way.
After those initial 16 tours, Danelle decided it was time to move on to other projects (http://www.tourtk.com), but happily there remains a core group of the original "TourBC-ists" led (coaxed?) by erstwhile Grease-God Barry Tranquada determined to keep the party going. We'd love for you to join us!
